Good Intentions

There is a track upon life’s path
Called Good Intention’s way
It’s paved in promises and thoughts
Of things we’ll do and say
Of actions we intend to take
Of deeds that we will do
It’s full of aspiration’s hope
Where the sky is always blue

But it’s been warned that good intent
Can lead down ruin’s road
Where thought and wish is not enough
To handle all the load
For intentions may be well and good
But actions are needed too
To go hand in hand and side by side
Along that avenue

And so to wander freely
Take a blend of good intent
And use it well to instigate
The future and present
By taking resolutions as
Transitional stepping stones
Towards action and achievement
That head to successful zones
