Those clothes we buy and never need
The shoes, the luxuries
Computers and the mobile phones
Or flowers and garden trees
The food, the trinkets, and the fun
Hotels and ticket deals
The books, the music and the art
The days out with fab meals
The cars, the trucks and motorbikes
The tools for DIY
The realm of retail madness now
Consumes through the WIFI
With internet and cyber sites
For shopping all online
But what about those retail stores
Will they remain so fine
Or will they simply disappear
From high street and back way
For open all hours online shops
Is how we shop today!

I’m glad to say I don’t do much shopping, aside from groceries–so I’m not tempted by online shopping, or actual shops.
I do like to do my grocery shopping online but this poem was written on the back of a local radio programme discussing the rise this Christmas in online shopping.
