I’m a borderline extrovert/introvert on the Myers Briggs personality test. How this pans out in real life is that I love meeting people online and sharing of myself, but I am deathly afraid of meeting them in real life. This is not to say I don’t or won’t, but it is to say that I am always super nervous until about five minutes into the real life meeting. Then the anxiety slips away.
I don’t think you’re alone. This was written during a networking meeting last night. It was great to meet so many people/businesses that tweet in our locality (#LincsConnect) but whilst I love meeting new people (strongly extrovert on the MB scales) there’s even then a jolt of nerves as to whether the person you’ve chatted to on-line is similar in real life or completely different. 🙂
