So what is Ginz&Tonic? A glass of gin topped up with tonic and a slice of lime? Ummm – think again! Ginz&Tonic started life as a unique year long poetry challenge from 2013 to 2014 to blog a poem a day – yep that was one poem every single day for 365 days – in the attempt to raise awareness of arrhythmia and syncope conditions. Since then though it’s been such fun coming up with all these poems I’ve just never stopped! And now I’m adding musings and prose so watch this space because the fizz just got a little bit more bubbly!
So who is Ginz?
Well that will be me – or Gini – loosely coined poet, Mum to the Fab4, host to 4 resident cats, a bouncy labrador puppy and lover of life generally. In the grown up world I champion better health outcomes through policy, campaigns, psychology and research with particular focuses on Parkinson’s and Cardiac Conditions (particularly atrial fibrillation). Away from the 9-5 though, I’m partial to a drop of gin (all things in moderation) but more relevantly here playing on the nickname my Dad gave me, aka Ginz.
And Tonic?
Well come on – it’s an obvious pairing really isn’t it? Or if you want to get techie it’s the stressed syllable in the word but go on we’ll sit happy with the bubbly quinine water and sit back, feet up with a glass or two of something to enjoy what hopefully will be an enjoyable, sometimes funny, sometimes serious, occasionally thought provoking but always entertaining read!
Go on! You know you want to! Over 1000 poems are just this click away! 🙂
Most importantly don’t whatever you do click the follow button on the side bar however tempting or you just might join the hundreds of other followers who subscribe to this blog and enjoy regular updates so they don’t miss out!

Thanks for visiting and the follow! I look forward to reading your poetry. I was also interested in your disclaimer and copyright sections. I’ve been thinking it might be wise to have something like that myself. Do you mind if I borrow from your copywriter statement to put together one of my own? Gail

Best wishes to you in your challenge to write a poem a day for one year. That is exactly what I have been doing. I began writing a poem a day on April 1, 2013 and am still at it! I hope to continue doing so until I reach April 1, 2014—but will most likely keep on as I do so enjoy it!

A poem a day – wow. I have targeted a poem a week and sometimes I think I’ve made a sorry show of it, but I post anyway… and keep going.
🙂 I think I’m on day 308 now with about 450 posts (mostly poems) on. It’s been an interesting challenge – no more so than to come up with something different every day but I do find you get into a rhyming trap! Keep going though with yours – I’ll look forward to reading them 🙂
