Eclipse

Riddle me this, riddle me why
There’s trouble ahead
Look up to the sky
As La Lune is arriving
To challenge the light
Flexing his muscle
This day to bring night

For he’ll drain out the life blood
Of the brightest star
He’ll get in her way
As he comes from afar
To land on her lantern
Stalk her pathway for sure
Imprinting his shadow
As he knocks on her door

And he’ll tease and he’ll taunt
Let the world know he’s there
Yet in time he will leave
Without a song or a care
When her heart he’s eclipsed
And his moment has passed
For La Lune’s in transition
And his presence won’t last

Daymer Bay

Ancient wood down on the beach
Once out of sight and out of reach
Has been uncovered by the sea
Revealing long lost history
As forest from those years gone by
Show roots that point up to the sky

Whilst outstretched sands ahead of Brea
Are rendered gone and washed away
In bay’s great battle with the squall
That’s stripped her spirit, soul and all!
To leave rock pools which have appeared
Filled now with Daymer’s spilt salt tears

The Sea Spirit

Tweetquake (Haiku)

An earthquake rumbles
Birds take to the air and fly
In cyber form too

Did you feel the little earthquake in Lincolnshire last night? We didn’t but we felt the reaction on Twitter as the phone started shaking from all the quake related tweets!!!

Sunrise

An early start and bleary eyes
But there behold and see
A marvellous sunrise on the hill
So magnificently
Oozing watered reds and pink
Across the dappled sky
In panoramic view behold
A vision there up high
And thus infuse the day with charm
Despite the threat of rain
As Heavens glory lifts the mind
Like nature’s own cocaine

Setting Star

Sun bursts in twilit blaze
Exploding fragmented rays across the heavens
A golden volcano of crepuscular light
Erupting on the horizon in cardinal flames
Lapping in the wake of a cerulean sky
Heralding tinctures tinged in Autumn’s russets
To glow in the fire of this setting star

The Waxing Moon

The moon waxes her passage
Shining through silhouetted branches
Set against the dark indigo sky
Radiant in her being
Although out of reach beyond the clouds
That skate in whispers
Like ghosts; ethereal in the midnight air
Yet still she nestles in partnership with Mother Earth
In synchrony with the universe
Suspended in space yet locked –
Locked in matrimony to this blue planet
In a bond extending into eternity

Crescent Moon (Haiku)

Sliver of silver
Hangs high in the sky tonight
Slice of crescent moon

Shadows (A Haiku)

Shadows from the clouds
Dancing ahead the hill top
Chase the hidden sun

Sonnet To The Moon

The lunar disk that paces cross the sky
White luminosity through blackness speeds
Behind the clouds of grey and darkness shies
Controlling waves she summons ocean’s needs
Celestial body gleaming rays of white
In synchronous rotation shows one face
A natural satellite that shines so bright
Ecliptic pathway circling with grace
Yet throughout time tis said that a full moon
Will influence with madness so perplexed
And warp the mind to waver out of tune
To leave each man and woman over vexed
Still marvel at our moon less dare profane
As lunar phases wax before they wane

Ode To The Setting Sun

Awake renewed oh setting sun
With fresh vitality
And shine so bright tomorrow do
For one and all to see

With heat to warm the coldest heart
And rays that radiate
The solar spirit of your star
Inspiring minds first rate
