Riverside Cafe
I have a bolt hole right by the wall
Where seeds are sewn to craft the new
A wall of harvest gold radiating sunny beams
And memories of summertime
Recollections of butterflies fluttering yonder
And daisies bowing their heads
Amidst grasses swaying in the gentle breezes
Next ducks a bobbing near the riverbank
And coots swimming on shallow stream
And in my spot
I make, I mix, I muse
And weave words
In a glow of sun-kissed dreams

Taken at The National Centre for Craft and Design, Sleaford, Lincolnshire (UK) developed from an old seed warehouse and now national centre of excellence for outstanding craft exhibitions etc, amazing cappucinos and always a good place to get an OU essay or two written or even a poem or book or two!
Writer’s Block (Haiku)
When the will to write
Vanishes into the blue
Freezing writer’s block
On The Tides of Ink
If I didn’t write, would you miss me at all?
Or am I merely letters on a page?
Words in the ether
Phrases; lyrics; verses
Call them what you may?
Am I simply these or am I meaning?
Music to your ears?
Poetry to the heart?
Tugging at the life strings
That join us together
Uniting us in universal concord
Resonating through the years
In stanzas of contemplation
Musings married in a scripts of thoughts
That wax and wane on the tides of ink

AutoCorrect
You’re driving me crazy
You’re driving me mad
As really you make me
Look terribly bad
As you jiggle my letters
And change all my words
In ways that appear
Completely absurd
By altering statements
When you don’t agree
With the sequence or way
Of my ABC
Or all other characters
Set on a page
As you trample across it
With critique and rage
To do your most damnedest
To point out; detect
My flaws and my faults as
You AUTOCORRECT!
But perhaps for a minute
You’d climb in my head
To see what I’m thinking
More so what I’ve said
For try as you will
To read what I say
If you don’t get the flow, then
You get in my way
For there’s more to a sentence
Than words spelt just so
Called sentiment, meaning
Being in the know
So dear grammar tool with
Your huge dictionary
You too make mistakes
Occasionally!!!!
Writer’s Block (Haiku)
Writers block grips hard
Paralysing lexicons
Inspiration lost
Writer’s Block
The page is blank
The mind is wiped
The words are gone
Ideas all swiped
And this they call
A writer’s block
Where heart stops short
And stills the clock
To dry out ink
For a short time
Until pen finds
Rhythm and rhyme
And once again
Picks up a pace
To be inspired
To fill the space
That laid all blank
When mind was wiped
When words were gone
Ideas all swiped
So that such pause
Rejuvenates
To breathe new life
Exhilarate
If Music Is The Food Of Love
If music is the food of love
Then words will also be
The rhythm of an inner soul
That’s beats so wild and free
The metre of a heart’s desire
Expressions vent so true
Transcending destiny and life
As lexicon imbue
The passion of sweet harmonies
That dwell within so pure
And cadence of life’s symphony
Cross staves that dance for sure
The tonic of all emphasis
That swells to thus define
That music as the food of love
Tangos with words entwined
