A Final Blessing

Towards the everlasting Spring
Where blossom stays in bloom
And daffodils rise from the ground

Towards the sun that never sets
Where blue dispels the mist
And jubilant trumpets resound

Towards all of eternity
Where endless joy’s fulfilled
And boundless peace is always found

Towards the perfect great beyond
Where radiance shines bright
And glory’s presence all abounds

Be ever in our thoughts and heads
Our minds and memories
With mercy blessed for evermore
With love, you are set free.

Blue Butterfly

Fly sweet butterfly. Fly fly!
Away into the blue
Midst azure wisps amongst the clouds
The essence that is you
And flap your cerulean wings
Until you blend as one
With heavens mist high up above
Towards the setting sun

Rest In Peace, Little Bea

Up in the sky a star is born
So luminous and bright
With distant mew midst Milky Way
Our dear one sleeps tonight

A far off dot, yet always near
Taken away too soon
Our loss is yet but heaven’s gain
Besides the silver moon

Where souls of those who’ve passed on by
Waltz through eternity
Freed from the shackles of this earth
Rest in peace, little Bea

Be Gone!

How I loathe you death
As you sweep in and steal
Taking for your own
All we hold precious
Contemptuous, bitter vengeance
Reaping souls selfishly
In a covetous act of wanton destruction
Destroying harmony and lives
To be the victor in a world
Where you are not welcome
Be gone you Angel of darkness
And leave us in peace
Leave us to enjoy the sun
To feel the raindrops and the early morning dew
To reach the rainbow
And smell the luscious grass
The fragrant floral scents
And bask in the company of our love ones
For you bring the final requiem
From where there is no return
Taking away the morrow
Whence the sun will no more rise nor set
The birdsong will no more be bright
Where nothing replaces everything
Into eternity
So be gone you thief
Be gone!

Lost Girl

She lassoed the moon
Stole the stars from the sky
Switched off the sun
Let the light simply die

She siphoned the air
Suppressed love’s last breath
Claiming victory was hers
As he fell to his death

And as last one standing
She refused to concede
That her spite and her bitterness
Had made her heart bleed

And with ice in her veins
And a stone that beat not
Her hatred engrossed her
As she started to rot

Then the skies all turned black
And the darkness consumed
The lost girl, so tormented
Now dead in her tomb.

Deadly Nightshade

Belladonna’s on the prowl
Dressed in mauve and in yellow
With black pearlescent beads
Draped and hanging very low

Enticing any stranger
To give a fatal kiss
To any who are so bewitched
And a little remiss

To partake of her offering
Eat from forbidden tree
As shade falls on this deadly night
Hers is the victory

Our Final Farewell

In the ether I see a kissing gate
‘Tween this world and the next
Where heaven’s call bids you come
Through the mist of tears
In our final farewell
And yet our love will remain
For although in my heart is a vast chasm
Under the lilied arch of sorrows
At that gate etched in life’s memorial
Where the sun sets on our yesterday
It will be that love; our love
That will always linger in my soul
And shine throughout the morrow
For all eternity

Swan Song

A swan song cut so very short
As bird capitulates
With early flight to heaven’s skies
Bereft of living state

For muted tonics fade into
The realm of softer tones
On wing of wind forever there
Away now all alone

And sweetness of the final song
Now drifts on distant breeze
As graceful swan departs this earth
To swim eternal seas

In memory of a deceased swan that we found in a lay-by today.  So very sad.

Adieu

Through the misted dawn of yesterday
A new morrow came in view
And through the one way gate from life
I turned and passed right through
I looked and saw you crying
And my heart reached out to you
For now your turn has not arrived
To walk into the blue

But when you need me remember this
Our memoirs will pave the way
A connection in the ether
That will be there night and day
And reminisce with fondness
Let me see you smile and play
And let your laughter ring aloud
To shine like the sun’s ray

And don’t grieve that I have had to leave
That this is the end; adieu
Instead be brave and look ahead
New beginnings, ventures new
And live and hope and flourish
And be happy as you do
For my Darling, I promise this
I’ll watch right over you.

Adieu
