Stuck At Sea
Out on the channel once t’was bad
With gusts and gales so strong
That on a ferry we got stuck
For ten or twelve hours long
To taxi up and down the coast
From Calais to Dieppe
The waves were high as high can be
And decks just so wind swept
With rain that lashed and battered
And lightning that was bad
And thunder that just pounded
To make the children sad
For all the ports were closed to ships
And none could stop and dock
So left to rock on the rough sea
We saw it round the clock!
