Outside the Box

When all is done and all is said
When sun sets and moon shines bright
Forgive those who have done much wrong
To sleep content tonight

For in life there will be those who
Want to get their own way
And make trouble or gossip lies
Create such disarray

Plus puppets who do as they’re bid
Have their strings pulled with just no thought
For what they say and what they do
Nor act kindly as they ought

For they will never find comfort
In being like they are
But you can find deep inner peace
“‘Neath galaxies of stars

By not rising to the bait they set
Nor breathing their toxic fumes
Remembering that wrong only
Deprives and all consumes

So instead forgive these folk who mess
With true joy and with goodness
And be thankful that you are based
In a place that is more blessed

And have sorrow that these people
Can’t appreciate and feel
What harmony is in their hearts
Keeping love and concord real

For this way lives outside the box
Where the only way to be
Is based in a forgiving creed
That will set you so free

There’s No Flies On Me

I know, I hear, I copy that
All that you think and do
A life transparent, readable
One that I can see through
No secrets can you ever hide
For underneath your skin
I look, I search, I scrutinize
For you lose and I win!

And when you want to understand
Just what you’ve not well hid
Remember this for your deceit
Is what lifts off the lid
For sure your sin will find you out
Reveal just who you be
The lies, the wrongs, the nastiness
No! There’s no flies on me!

Rags Over Riches

Throw me rags over riches
Cast me poverty less strife
I’ll give peace and understanding
And won’t twist in the knife

I’ll call on strength; resilience
And power to love despite
The ways of darkness, fierce control
That take a bitter bite

And my throne will be one that is
A seat of harmony
Save crown of thorns that spears my head
From rose brier bleeding me

And I’ll still give out compassion
A heart that does not hate
Forgiveness at my very core
And hope that liberates

I’ll bear the load serenely
Whatever hits my face
And live a life that’s founded on
Pure kindness filled with grace

I Bid You Forgiveness

Your words chafe my soul as if with a knife
That plunges its blade in my heart
Such opinions bite hard and hand out more pain
Such judgement overwhelms to depart
Your prejudice sears like a third degree burn
Discriminating you purge any calm
Your venomous anger and sharpness of tongue
Takes joy from my life to do harm

But my prayer goes to you with openness whole
To wish so deep peace safe to say
To trust that you’ll find the contentment you yearn
With compassion and love on the way
Save understanding and hope that wells up from the seat
Of being at one after all
I bid you forgiveness and pray you’ll move on
Renewed by life’s fresh waterfall

The fresh waterfall washing over with grace
To heal like a balm; to release
To inspire and create a subscription to love
With empathy and so to with peace
And I pray you will drink from these waters again
Lest your words may drain life right away
And hope you’ll encapsulate freshness anew
To shine out pure goodness each day

Forgiveness

There is only one way to go
One road to just traverse
One path to freedom, liberty
Away from pain and curse

Not backward but ahead intent
Without revenge or hate
One channel that can so empower,
With contentment create

A life restored emotionally
With positivity and peace
A life that moves us onwards where
All bitterness might cease

Where reigns of bullies fail to hold
Oppressive clasp depletes
Where venom and despite then fades
Their power then obsolete

Where those who don’t apologize
Who fail to see their wrong
No longer matter; run the race
Of life that takes us on

For through the power of forgiveness
We walk a freer way
With liberation; empowerment
Towards a brighter day

Forgiveness

Apologies

Sincere apologies received
With no real true resolve
To make amend, to heal the hurt
Might just as well dissolve
For lies that sit in tangent to
Those words without good deeds
Will mean no more than those not said
And only sow a seed
Of further discontent and hate
Of upset that goes on
So make your sorries mean something
Lest dare they make more wrong!

Sacrificial Lamb

Sacrificial lamb
Of society
Delivered up for turning from
A mob mentality
Cruelly slaughtered on the table
For nothing other than
Existing in the out-group when
The in-group is a clan

Sacrificial Lamb
Of society
Enslaved by academic spat
That stifles purity
Bound up in chains of tyranny
With lies that pierce the heart
Gagged, persecuted, lashed and beat
Destroyed and torn apart

Sacrificial Lamb
Of society
Though hung and drawn and quartered still
Stands up for liberty
And finds the will to vindicate
Oppressors’ acts and deeds
In truth releasing forgiveness
However much she bleeds
