Cyber Illusion

Are you invisible
Do you exist
Imaginary friend
In a world with a twist
Where those who we contact
Who we know just by name
Who we see but an image of
Who present in a frame
With a profile
A status
A handle; a cue
All wrapped up in binary
But are you all true?
These friends that we make
Who we tweet to and text
Or message and snapchat
Or whatever next
Do you live in the world
In reality’s way
Or is this cyber-existence
Mere illusion today!

Two Faced Delusion

“Mirror, Mirror, on the wall
Who is the fairest of them all?”

“Well, that’s,” said Mirror “hard to say.
Which face of yours is on display?
The one you show to Mrs B?
Or the face you show right now to me?
It’s hard to say which face is fair
For you behold two faces there”

“Oh come now Mirror, so confused!
For only one face do I use!
Why do you think you’re the police?
Come Mirror see I keep the peace
Or that is what I think I do
Is that not fair – does it hurt you?”

“Mirror, Mirror on the wall
Now say that I’m most fair of all”

What is Reality?

She felt it, saw it, heard it
Smelt it, tasted it as well
But on reflection was it really there?
She really couldn’t tell!

She searched and she pondered
She tried to understand
Why it had been there in that breath
But gone at sleight of hand

She swore it had been present
She thought she’d seen it with her eyes
But it couldn’t be determined
In a state now to realise

To realise into reality
But there she hit the wall
For is reality perception?
Or just an illusion after all?
