False Impressions

Peacock fans feathers
Assuming authority
So far from the truth!

Substantially flawed
This mock display of grandeur
Belies neutral fact

For ego can’t match
The actual ugly facts
That are now exposed!

Despicable fool
Unable to hide his guilt
Despite full plumage

Lies!

If the truth sets us free
Then why do some lie
Twist the facts and contort them
To beggar belief and defy
Freedom and integrity,
Honour and trust
For the truth’s none negotiable
And is simply a must

So don’t lie, use deceit
Drive the truth under ground
Deflect honesty’s spotlight
For in time you’ll be found
Out and your lies
Will become quite renown
As your fibs, fraud and falsehoods
Will hunt you right down

Gossip

The problem with gossip
Is it spreads like a fire
Like a demon possessed
Electricity down the wire
Like a mudslide or earthquake
A fast running stream
It fuels in its frenzy
And rarely is clean
And it picks up the debris
In the sails of its storm
With the whispers of others
Stinging as bees in the swarm
And, as such, wrecks lives
But mostly departs
From virtuosity and truth
Breaking bonds; breaking hearts
For it can’t handle honesty
And fails to perceive
Anything more than its own view
Being corrupt and dirty
As it smudges and smears
Is implicit with lies
Causing havoc and chaos
Til the day that it dies

Pinocchio’s Nose

Pinocchio’s nose
That was such a lie
An outright deception
Of the facts falsify

For sure a tall story
A whopper in fact
That’s derided the truth
With such heavy impact

Yet why not be honest?
Be above board and fair?
Why pretend that you’re someone
Who simply’s not there?

And say how it is
With openness true
For lies are for losers
And that really ain’t you!!!

Be Sure Your Sins Will Find You Out

Be sure your sins will find you out
Your words be shown to be
Dishonourable; full of deceit
Like wood from rotten tree

The wire that will just trip you up
The noose around your neck
The shade in which you’re forced to lurk
The outlaw in the deck

The darkness where no light can shine
The cave in which you hide
The tones of black and dingy grey
And murkiness inside

And then when all is said and done
And judgement day arrives
Be sure the rod of justice will
Determine who survives

The stick that will beat out the truth
The rhythm and the rhyme
As radiance will expel your ways
To last the test of time

Secrets

What are your secrets?
What are your lies?
Who are you hiding from?
Why the disguise?

What mask are you wearing?
What skeletons prowl
What deeds are uncovered
What deceit lingers foul

What fear holds you hostage
What good does it do?
What emotional shackles
Deplete the confident you?

Secrets

Be Sure Your Lies Will Find You Out

Be sure your lies will find you out
Your trickery laid bare
Hypocrisy and pure contempt
Exposed in open air
Your blatant fraud and cheating ways
Dishonesty and cons
Will be revealed on judgement day
Along with your put-ons

For honesty’s the only thing
That stays the test of time
And truth so spoke with open heart
Will hold rhythm and rhyme
So turn your back on fraudulence
And let your word be true
Step up and be accountable
Hold fast to pure virtue

Let The Truth Be Out

Tell it to me straight
Or don’t tell me at all,
But don’t try and bluff
For falsehoods lead to a fall.

And the perils and the dangers
Of telling me a lie,
Will come back to haunt you
That I will not deny.

For truth and integrity
Are to what I subscribe,
And anything else,
I simply will not imbibe!

And elaborate stories
However, they are sold
Manifest in fables of sadness
And misfortunes foretold.

So tell it to me straight
Or don’t tell me at all
Be transparent and clear
And honesty will reign standing tall.
