Rest In Peace, Little Bea

Up in the sky a star is born
So luminous and bright
With distant mew midst Milky Way
Our dear one sleeps tonight

A far off dot, yet always near
Taken away too soon
Our loss is yet but heaven’s gain
Besides the silver moon

Where souls of those who’ve passed on by
Waltz through eternity
Freed from the shackles of this earth
Rest in peace, little Bea

Be Gone!

How I loathe you death
As you sweep in and steal
Taking for your own
All we hold precious
Contemptuous, bitter vengeance
Reaping souls selfishly
In a covetous act of wanton destruction
Destroying harmony and lives
To be the victor in a world
Where you are not welcome
Be gone you Angel of darkness
And leave us in peace
Leave us to enjoy the sun
To feel the raindrops and the early morning dew
To reach the rainbow
And smell the luscious grass
The fragrant floral scents
And bask in the company of our love ones
For you bring the final requiem
From where there is no return
Taking away the morrow
Whence the sun will no more rise nor set
The birdsong will no more be bright
Where nothing replaces everything
Into eternity
So be gone you thief
Be gone!

Loss

Loss – whatever form it takes
Runs with cyclic momentum
Through a passage of time
From the crushing initial shock
Reality’s illusion
Through corridors of anger
Emotion’s vent
To the perplexing roller coaster
Surging up; collapsing down
Until acceptance swims
In the calm waters of serenity
With a readiness to live on
As broken hearts are patched
Scaffolded and built to pave
The new tomorrow
Which today we call hope

The Last Lament

I cried a million tears
More than stars up in the sky
An ocean of my salty drops
To weep until I die

For such deep lamentations
Have left me lost in grief
And nothing will abate the pain
Or bring any relief

For endless sobs now cascade from
My eyes and drown my heart
Obscuring any happiness
My world now falls apart

And so I yearn to leave this world
The loss I cannot bear
For with you gone – my love; my life
There is nothing out there

No reason to live longer
No air to take in breath
So with the last true act of love
I cry myself to death

Disappointed

Disappointed was the best word
Upset too strong
Let down too weak
Just plain disappointed
Trust betrayed
Hope severed
Promises broken
Saddened maybe
Frustrated definitely
Disillusioned almost certainly
But disappointed just seemed to sum it up
Disappointed!
That word hung heavy
They simply didn’t deserve him
He neatened his tie
Sighed
Picked up his books
And left
Never to look back

Sonnet to Love Lost

Your love that shines forth as a summer’s day
Across the seas of passion wild and free
With rays that warm, that sing, that always play
Your heart that bleeds rose blood always for me
The petals of a flower that never fade
The sky that holds the universe as one
The depths of love that swells in life’s parade
The sun that warms, the stars my soul hath won
But yet you walk, you turn and disappear
Your coldness like the icecap swiftly breaks
Your eyes empty, indifferent not so dear
Your love now lost; your heart in tidal wake
Still I will know that you have once loved me
For love holds true in all eternity
