Karma

Karma
Where feeling is the reaper
Of the fruits of action
The consequence of volition
The effects of cause
Rooted in ignorance and craving
As the architect of fate
Creates his own heaven
Makes his own hell
And where the seeds of yesterday
Grow to influence the shape of tomorrow

The End

Will the words ever cease
Will the notes ever dry
Or the stars fall right out
Of the heavens and sky

Will the sun fail to rise
Will moon end its reign
Or the world stop revolving
On its axis again

Will the waves lull their lapping
Will the winds calm not blow
Or the birds fall to silence
Or the trees never grow

Will these things ever happen
Will our planet decease
Or universe disappear
Or time even cease

And in wondering these questions
And thinking them through
There’s one thing for certain that
We won’t know if they do

So why consider and contemplate
Or muse in such a way
When our time could be spent making
The most of our days

Yet I think on reflection that
We’d all like to know
When the end will be nigh so
We can up sticks and go

Perspective

The world is but a body of fluid perspective
Covered in a skin of beliefs
Yet pierce that skin and she will bleed
Bleed wars, vengeance and bitterness
Until veins coagulate into curdled rivers of hatred
And scars pit her being forever

Philosophy of Tolerance

There’s a practice amongst humans
Where opinions are a vent
To understand the raison d’être
The purpose; no relent
To box in categories how
Just each conjecture lies
To label them philosophy
Postulate and theorise

Then each of these is made into
A system of beliefs
A way; a vision; attitude
That aims to give relief
To human constant questioning
Of what has gone before
Or what will happen in the next
What’s through life’s tight sealed door

But still the bottom line is this
That whilst we might believe
In select ideas and outlooks
That we choose to conceive
All have a perfect credence
When they are bought into
For minds aid understanding
When hearts have buy in too

And so why some fight; go to war
Dictating what is right
Just seems to block perspective
And fails to have insight
For there’s a patchwork blanket
That spreads across the Earth
Humanity’s opinions
The bedrock that gives worth

The values each subscribe to and
The ways they want to be
Opinions, sentiments and thoughts
To comprise philosophy
So in essence it might be the case
That there’s more than one way
If we all chose to synchronize
With tolerance each day

Philosophy of Tolerance

Tolerate

Think!  Patience is a virtue
Open wider your mind’s eye
Live and walk in other’s shoes
Enrich – diversify
Respect the ways of others
And be there to give support
Take care of all upon this Earth
Enjoy!  No second thought.

Be Sure Your Lies Will Find You Out

Be sure your lies will find you out
Your trickery laid bare
Hypocrisy and pure contempt
Exposed in open air
Your blatant fraud and cheating ways
Dishonesty and cons
Will be revealed on judgement day
Along with your put-ons

For honesty’s the only thing
That stays the test of time
And truth so spoke with open heart
Will hold rhythm and rhyme
So turn your back on fraudulence
And let your word be true
Step up and be accountable
Hold fast to pure virtue

Respect Each Other

R egard and consideration
E xpressions of respect
S incere and true connections
P romoting esteem with great effect
E ssential obligation
C rystalized in human form
T olerance and patience that

E choes past the storm
A ppreciation over everything
C hallenges of worthiness
H onouring the other person

O penly with openness
T ruth and responsibility
H arnessing a loving grace
E verything to everybody
R espect for the human race

Fate

If it’s meant, then it will happen
And there’s not much that you can do
For it is said the hand of fate
Walks straight through life with you
But how quickly you may amble
Or canter on your way
Might blend the path of destiny
With free will and mind per se

For whatever ‘it’ is meant to be
The journey there has different trails
And those you choose to wander down
Might alter life’s details
For at the end when all is said
And all is done as well
The story in our book of life
Will have more than fate to tell

Assumptions

What is it with assumption?
The way we postulate
With supposition’s claims
On which we ruminate
And how do our hypothesis
Add up and make much sense
Are they genuine conjectures?
Or deductions too immense?
And why buy-in to certain theories
That we swear are sure to go
Do they consider all the abstract parts?
Are they fully in the know?

For when we start assuming
There’s a truth that we believe
That the point that we are making
Is the one that all perceive
But maybe by subscription
We have enslaved fictitious thoughts
Or succumbed to the suggestions
That others thought we ought
For assumption can be delusion
And simply out of tune
If we jump to some conclusions,
That assume just far too soon!

Tipping The Balance

I’d be perfectly contented
To die in poverty
If I’d contributed to life
And to all society
To support with another’s plight
To make a difference
I’d happily be penniless
Without any inference

For when I see some of the wealthy
The rich who are so free
It brings a tear into my eye
At their lack of liberty
For wealth is a great privilege
To share and to assist
To disburse and relieve anguish
To lift poverty’s mist

For the conditions that some live in
The lack of human rights
The rife hunger and starvation
Are not a pretty sight
As the balance of abundance
Is set to so unfair
So is it such a sacrifice
To give and offer care?
