Memories of Yesterday
We spent today under the bright blue skies on Blackheath in London celebrating my boy’s birthday. So many memories too though of happy days from my own youth

Spring is in the air
The grass now needs a mow
The borders need a-planting and
The beds required a hoe
The fences must be painted
The hedges need a trim
So chances of relaxing now
Are looking rather slim
And suddenly car washing
Becomes the thing to do
Though heed the call of a Pimms cup
That’s waiting there for you
For when the jobs are dusted
All finished up and done
It is the time to put feet up
And enjoy the springtime fun!
I dream of a lie in
Time to remain as one with the duvet
Deaf to the alarm’s morning rants
And the cockerel’s early wake up call
I dream of a lie in
Missing the sun as she rises in the sky
To slumber; to sleep; to relax
Absorbed in a good book
I dream of a lie in
Imbued by the warmth of roasted coffee
Percolating tranquility
Where drapes remain drawn
And busyness is but an illusion
Yes I dream of a lie in
One day ….
It’s time to surf the sofa
To park and not to move
To chill out and relax a bit
Get in the weekend groove
And then when Monday comes around
We’ll galvanise with glee
To make plans for the next weekend
And time with family
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND 🙂
Relaxing on a Sunday afternoon
In garden chair on lawn with glass in hand
Under a sky so blue that seems in tune
With siestas being taken cross the land
Where time stands still and sleep creeps up to bid
Each languisher the rest that they deserve
And slowly close and seal heavy eye lid
With sips of chardonnay from wine reserve
Yet clouds blow in from far flown eastern shore
A breeze besets the garden’s sultry bliss
Chilled wine sojourns and can be poured no more
Instead a cup of tea cross lips does kiss
For Sunday afternoon is but a dream
But not always as warm as it might seem
