Harmony

There’s a bridge that extends

Between you and me

Invisible yet there

Cross chasm and sea

Called respect, open mindedness

Less judgement and blame

That seeks out common pathways

That chooses the game

That pulls together; uplifts

That doesn’t divide

Works hard to discover

That despite different sides

We are of the same coin

Be me head and you tails

And that’s where the wealth is

On a sliding scale

T’ween my opinion and yours

However different they be

For when all’s said and done

Let’s sing in harmony

A ‘Welfie’ World

I dream of a ‘welfie’ world
Where the ‘me’ is replaced with the ‘we’
Where the common currency is love
The common language is respect
Bound in individual responsibility
Uniting each one
And bringing together the world
Connected
Joined
Working as one
In an image celebrating diversity
Yet unified by worldcentric vision
Portrayed in one powerful snapshot
Otherwise known as US

Bleeding World

There aren’t enough tears to be cried
Nor near enough droplets of rain
Not enough lakes, oceans and seas
To wash away all of this pain

For the world has a gash to her heart
A chasm of untold deep grief
A bleed that cannot be stopped
Where mere words won’t bring any relief

For as long as disunion exists
Persecution and terror abides
As long as guns blast away peace
The split will open wider; divide

And there won’t be concord til the day
Humanity joins together as one
Where judgement is counselled by truth
And love in each other runs strong

Where the light of freedom shines so bright
And filters deep into the core
Where unity will triumph and bring
Harmony in place of all war

Cordon of Humanity

When all that is left
Are small candles flickering
Holding out against the storm
And battling the tides of destruction
Then let a cordon of humanity
Bound in grief
Conjoined in compassion
United in empathy
Bring hope where there is despair
And love where there is hatred
So that the flames will reignite
Shattering the darkness
With life-giving light

Unity

Let neither creed not colour be
A reason to divide
And neither let race segregate
Across the globe worldwide
But more so seek the common thread
Of love, of truth, of peace
To weave life’s richest tapestry
Complete without a crease

And join in pleasing harmony
That sings with one accord
That resonates diversity
Our differences applaud
Over counter objectives
Oust xenophobic view
Dispelling prejudice mindset
As unity shines through

Unity

However much we segregate
How much we dare divide
However much we quarantine
Or set apart; aside
Solutions will not then appear
Like magic calm then reign
Or simply land right in our lap
By separations gain
For by the very fact alone
The world’s diversity
Is what will bring about true peace
And harness unity

Cry Salty Tears

Sad sad world
Cry salty tears
To bring healing; health; peace
Indiscriminately
And let the sun shine again
Pure brilliant rays
Melting the souls of those who hate
Brightening the lives of those who mourn
Warming those left out in the cold

Sad sad world
Cry salty tears
To cleanse; purify; preserve
Without prejudice
And let love; harmony and hope
Restore the joy
Washing over each of individual, family and community
Celebrating diversity
Resonating unity

 

Freedom Call

From the cradle to the grave
Impart a creed of love
Teach fairness and teach tolerance
With peace combined thereof

And don’t let colour of a skin
Nor disability
Sit in the seat of judgement where
The truth is hard to see

Don’t rush to brash assumption
Nor empower a path of blame
But turn away from hatred
Lest all else that might inflame

And light a fire within your heart
One that considers all
With outreach, empathy and hope
Unite the freedom call

Let’s make believe there is a world
Where pain is there no more
Where suffering has vanished and
Heartbreak has gone for sure

Let’s make believe there is a world
Where fears are all wiped out
Where all can live in harmony
Without the hand of doubt

Let’s make believe there is a world
Where peace reigns all supreme
Where wars have ceased their battle cry
And tolerance redeemed

Where love is at the core
Where man can live in unity
Establishing rapport

A world that is its best
A world where faith inspires mankind
