Monday’s Gloom
Monday’s here; they’re all the same
Grey and damp like gloomy rain
Falling on Sunday’s parade
As memories of the weekend fade
Monday’s here; they’re all the same
Grey and damp like gloomy rain
Falling on Sunday’s parade
As memories of the weekend fade
Hello Friday! How are you?
Please I’d say to see
The week that has just passed us by
Now ended thankfully
And with you we now welcome in
The weekend for a bit
Of relaxation, chilled out times
For these will be a hit!
And so from Thursday we’ve moved on
To raise a glass and say
Good riddance week! Farewell! Adieu!
Let’s hear it for Friday!
Welcome to Monday!
Always the curse of the week
After the weekend!
It’s time to surf the sofa
To park and not to move
To chill out and relax a bit
Get in the weekend groove
And then when Monday comes around
We’ll galvanise with glee
To make plans for the next weekend
And time with family
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND 🙂
I wish you all a fun weekend
Of fun and family
Of laughter and good cheer and more
Of happiness and glee
I wish you all some r n r
To chill and take a break
Some time to spend with those you love
Some time that is first rate
I wish you all pure joy and peace
A weekend of sheer bliss
Recuperate; restock; renew
Embraced by weekend’s kiss
Oh Friday traffic – what a bore
With queues so very long
Why do you hold the whole town up
In melancholy song
Of engines churning constantly
With odd loud hoot of horn
Or brakes a-screeching to a halt
And people so forlorn
All wending down the crammed packed roads
Intent to make their way
With haste to weekend’s resting post
And home without delay!

Saturday morning
Stay in bed
Coffee bubbling
Paper’s read
Croissant baking
Silence wins
Calm and peace
Weekend begins
Common my friend – what’s up old chap
It won’t be all that bad
Just put your best foot forward
And don’t be oh so sad
It’s just a new week starting
As the old one goes to bed
And though I feel your pain, old boy
Put that anguish from your head
Pop your hat on; start all over
Get up – greet this brand new day
Kick those blues that you are feeling
And hurry on your way
For those Monday Morning Blues ain’t great
They’re resigned to hold us back
To stop us going forward
To keep us in our track
They overwhelm, perplex us
They make us want to snooze
But resist the urge to dally
Shift those Monday Morning Blues
