Workout Wobbles

The lure of the duvet
The weight of your legs
When the gym comes a calling
Or swimming pool begs
And any old reason
Just pops in your head
To sleep a bit longer
And stay in your bed!

Yet lash out at temptation
Resist any urge
To languor and linger
Let its will not be heard
Nor conceded to; obeyed
For the longer you stay
Under cover the harder
You’ll find that workout today!

So put your mind to it
Jump up and resolve
To beat any decoys
That simply don’t solve
The matter before you
The need to get fit
And with it more healthy
Be strong and don’t quit!!!!

Oh and note to self – maybe don’t use writing a poem about it as an excuse not to go! 🙂

Google Neuropathy

Bewary of the internet
As diagnostic tool
For it will kill you over cure
And can be rather cruel
Insinuating that you’ve got
A real fatality
When in essence you might just have
‘Google neuropathy’

Rethread Our Heads

Lets rethread our heads
Unwind our minds
Through neural corridors
Potentially with active might
Synaptic strength and more
Controlling what we think and do
Project or indeed say
The way we rock to innervate
Our outcomes every day

Sickness

Maladies tides washed in waves of affliction
Besetting the body in floods of disorder
Depriving the senses of congruity
And physical tenement depleted
In a portentous defeat of malaise
Consumed in an vast exhaustion
Of decrepitude and enervation
Awaiting health to yield her remedial balm
With exuberant vivacity and
The verdancy of well-being reinstated;
Fine fettle recalibrated

Sickness

Winter Tonics

With all the winter sniffles
You can hear the chemists’ glee
As sales of drugs for coughs and colds
Go high as high can be

And as for those at Kleenex
Well their day is really made
As every sniff or large ‘atchoo’
Means tissue trades upgrade

But as the bugs arrive in force
From the ‘chills’ to winter flu
Remember that the old wives say
A tonic’s good for you

Yes tonics that they swear are great
Even if they taste quite grot
With onions, garlic, vinegar
To lessen all the snot!

Or maybe those that promise
To infuse vitality
From brews of minerals and herbs
To juices and fruit teas

So try them to be certain
You could have done no more
To combat winter viruses
A-queuing at your door!

By way of note this neither recommends the use of or vouches for any remedies or tonics etc.  Always seek medical advice if you have concerns!
