The Salesmen

Beware the window salesman
He’ll stand about and chat
And sell you frames, conservatories
And flaps just for your cat
He’ll even do you offers
On gutters; facias too
And heaven only knows his deals
On front doors – good as new!

For in all truth he’s just so like
The car salesman down the street
Who sells you a soft top with just
Two front and no back seats
Despite the fact you’re pregnant
With hordes of kids at home
For somehow he convinces you
You need some time alone!

You need some time! Well don’t you just!
But in reality
With baby number 5 soon due
Those days you cannot see
Yet still you drive away from there
In red Mercedes Benz
To house with new conservatory
Both salesmen now your friends!

Cyberlife

So many changing passwords and
So many different codes
So many usernames and prompts
So many – there are loads!

To access unique data and
Protect our cyberlife
To save us from the fraudsters who
Seem keen to impart strife

But is it really worth it.
Does it save the pain and stress
As forgetting drives us crazy
Like any recall test

And fleeing from your memory bank
Are all the codes you need
The passwords that will open doors
Save haemorrhage or bleed

But without the reset button
Or the prompt to sweetly say
Your online life is all done in
With no access today!

Time Flies!

What happened to this morning?
Where did it disappear?
Before you know the day will go?
And then the month – the year!
And after that the decade
As seasons drift on by
So watch out for the clock has wings
As time can really fly

Windows of Opportunity

Standing in a worn out house
With windows everywhere
Some with dust and some with dirt
And some without a care
Whilst others hang and tease and taunt
With curtains shut so tight
Where yesteryears and past regrets
Are hid right out of sight

Then other windows overhead
Are leaded full of weight
And seem to bear down heavily
With pressure, stress and hate
But the odd one stands out gleaming
With sunlight shining in
Whilst others more swing open wide
With a breeze so beckoning

They beckon with good promise
With hope and more aside
Revealing opportunities
When their frames are open wide
Where openings and prospects
Can be grabbed specifically
To thrive upon such chances through
The windows of opportunity
