Love
Paraphrasing William Shakespeare and Paul of Tarsus and Sosthenes in Ephesus
They call it Zentangle
But in essence it’s more
Unwinding the mind
And the head to ensure
You can doddle your way
Through this mayhem of life
To relax, to chill out
To release any strife
As pen and ink harmonise
Together as one
Cross sketched pages of patterns
Till that stress is all gone
And your brain is placated
You feel more at ease
Altogether restored
Revived if you please
Expressed on a canvas
In a notepad; at will
With meditative charm as you
Sit and be still
And soak in the goodness
Through the eye of your pen
Untangling the tangle
To the power of Zen
Doodledangle etch in pen
Drawing to the power of zen
Conceptualise with this and that
As mind unravels split and splat
With lines and dots and pattern fest
In ink, in pencil – either’s best
Organised or randomly
Illustrating happily
Into oblivion and back
Tracing ink in white and black
Wasting hours yet not in vain
Then when ones done just start again
And so today is DABday
A day that’s sure to fly
A day that’s there to spread much joy
To all birds glorify
And all that’s needed is a pad
Of paper and a pen
To draw all sorts of different birds
Perhaps even a hen
So get artistic and then share
Your work however small
On social networks all worldwide
To bring some joy to all
